DISC Profile App

Become a DISC Certified Coach

A certification for coaches who use DISC with clients, and a public directory where prospects find you. Applications are reviewed, and not everyone is accepted.

What you get

  • A listed public profile at /coaches/your-name, indexed and findable, with your specialty and location. This is the main draw: a page prospects reach when they search for a DISC coach.
  • The right to use the DISC Certified Coach mark, under licence, on your own site and materials while your certification is current.
  • Coach Mode: client management, conversation guides, session briefings, a team view, and deck generation, all in one workspace.
  • A cohort, your training group plus access to every certified coach. In comparable programs, the peer network is the part people value most.
  • Referrals passed to certified coaches when the platform owner cannot take the work.
  • Early access to research on the instrument, including its flaws, and the ability to contribute data. No other DISC certification offers this.

Frequently asked questions

What does DISC certification involve?
Six stages: apply with a short scenario question, an interview, training that sets the standard for representing the instrument accurately, supervised practice, certification by an admin once the standard is met, and a listed public profile in the directory. Certified coaches also get Coach Mode, the right to use the DISC Certified Coach mark under licence, and access to the cohort.
How long does it take?
It depends on your cohort and how quickly you complete supervised practice, which requires at least three real debriefs including one with a team, a written reflection, and a follow-up call. Because the practice is real client work rather than a timed test, the pace is set by your own schedule rather than a fixed number of weeks. We will be specific about timelines with your cohort.
Do I need prior DISC experience?
It helps but it is not required. This program is built for working coaches, consultants, and facilitators, so we assume you already coach. The training covers how to use DISC accurately and how to represent what it can and cannot do. What matters more than prior DISC hours is that you do this work professionally and take the standard seriously.
Is the instrument validated?
No. This DISC instrument has not completed independent psychometric validation or population norming, and that is published openly on the methodology and validation page. Certified coaches are taught to represent it accurately, and misrepresenting what it can do is grounds for revocation. If your work requires a fully validated instrument for high-stakes assessment, look at Everything DiSC instead.
Can I use it for hiring?
No. DISC here is for the people doing the hiring, to understand their own style and communicate better. It is never for scoring, ranking, or screening the people being hired. Using it for selection is a misuse of the instrument and is inconsistent with the standard certified coaches agree to.
What happens if I do not pass?
Two things can happen. An application can be declined at the review stage, because not everyone is accepted. Or supervised practice may not yet meet the standard, in which case you get specific feedback and can continue working toward it. The standard is real, which is the point, and it is not a pass-fail exam so much as a bar you reach when your practice is ready.

About DISC Profile App

The DISC Certified Coach program is a certification for working coaches, consultants, and facilitators who want to use DISC with clients, backed by a public directory where prospects find them. If you already coach for a living and are deciding whether to add a credential, this page is written for you. You can apply for certification once you have read what the standard involves.

Start with the limits, because an experienced coach will check. This instrument has not completed independent psychometric validation or population norming, and that is published openly on the methodology and validation page. Certified coaches are taught to represent it accurately, and misrepresenting what it can do is grounds for revocation. Naming this first is what makes everything else on the page credible.

The hiring position is fixed. DISC here is for the people doing the hiring, to understand their own style and communicate better. It is never for scoring, ranking, or screening the people being hired. A certified coach who uses it for selection is misusing it. If you want a selection or hiring instrument, this is not that, and DISC around hiring explains where the line sits.

It is not for everyone. It is not for people who want a certificate without the work, it is not a selection or hiring instrument, and it is not for high-stakes assessment that needs a fully validated tool. If that last one is you, look at Everything DiSC, and how to choose a DISC assessment explains when a validated, facilitated product is the right call.

How it works

  1. Apply. You submit an application, including a short scenario question, at the apply form. Applications are reviewed and not everyone is accepted, because that is what makes the credential worth holding. Investment is discussed during the application process.
  2. Interview. If your application fits, you have a conversation about your practice and how you intend to use DISC with clients.
  3. Train. You accept the licence and ethics agreement, then work through the training that sets the standard for representing the instrument accurately.
  4. Supervised practice. At least three real debriefs, including one with a team, a written reflection that a human reads, and a follow-up call. You should know that standard before you apply.
  5. Certify. An admin reviews your supervised practice against the standard and certifies you only once it is met.
  6. List. Your public profile goes live in the directory at /coaches/your-name, and you can use the DISC Certified Coach mark under licence.
