DISC Team Workshop

A workshop your team will still be using six months later

Half day or full day, facilitated live by Jon Morrison, in person across the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley or virtual anywhere. Every person leaves with their full DISC report, and the team leaves with a year of AI coaching so the day actually sticks.

The real problem

Most team workshops are a good day, then nothing

You know the pattern. The team spends a day together, people enjoy it, someone takes photos, and everyone goes back to their desk. The binder goes in a drawer. Two weeks later the same friction is back, and the workshop is a nice memory that changed nothing.

The problem is never the day. It is the silence after it. Insight fades fast unless something keeps it alive in the actual week, in the real one-on-one, in the next tense decision. A single event cannot do that on its own.

There is a second problem underneath the first. Most workshops teach the model in the abstract, four letters and a chart, so people leave with a vocabulary but no read on the actual humans they sit beside. It is interesting and it is forgettable. Real names on a real team map are what people remember, and that only works if the data is theirs.

This workshop is built backwards from both. The day matters, but the design is about what happens after it, which is why a full year of AI coaching is included rather than sold as an upsell. The team leaves with a tool that keeps working, not just a good afternoon.

What the day covers

The agenda, half day core and full day additions

The half day is three hours and covers the core below. The full day is six hours and adds the two manager-focused blocks marked full day. Every version starts from real data, because the team takes the assessment before we meet.

Everyone starts with real data (Before the day)

Each person takes the free assessment ahead of time, about 10 minutes, so the workshop opens with your team actual styles rather than a generic explanation of the model. No theory-first slides, no cold start.

Your team map (Core)

We put the whole team on one view and read it together. Where are the styles piled up, where are the gaps, who carries a pattern nobody had named. Scores are read as relative strengths around a midline, never as a ranking of people against each other. Seeing it as a group, out loud, is what turns a private result into a shared language the team can actually use.

Style tensions, live (Core)

Facilitated exercises on the real frictions a mixed team feels: pace, detail, directness, and how each person handles change. People feel the differences in the room instead of hearing about them, which is what makes it stick.

The exercises are built so the quieter styles get heard, not run over by whoever talks fastest. That balance is usually where the most useful moment of the day happens.

Working agreements (Core)

Each pairing and the team as a whole write concrete communication contracts. How much context before a decision, how disagreement gets raised, what a clean handoff looks like. Specific commitments, not vibes, written where the team can hold them.

These agreements are the artifact the team keeps. They go on the wall or in the shared doc, and the AI coach references them when the next real tension shows up, so they stay alive instead of gathering dust.

Running one-on-ones by style (Full day)

A manager-focused block on adjusting one-on-ones to each report style, so feedback lands and quiet people get heard. Managers leave with a per-report approach, not a single default that fits only people like them.

Role-play on your real conflicts (Full day)

We take the team actual recurring frictions and run them as role-plays, then build a 90-day plan with the AI coach embedded in the team workflow so the practice continues after everyone goes home.

How it works

From first call to a year of coaching

  1. Step 1: Discovery call. A short call to fit the day to your team, its size, and the frictions you already feel. This is where we scope half day or full day.
  2. Step 2: Team assesses. Everyone takes the free assessment async before the date, about 10 minutes each, so we start with real data.
  3. Step 3: The workshop. Half day or full day, in person across the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley or virtual anywhere, facilitated live.
  4. Step 4: Reports included. Every participant full DISC report is provided at no charge, so the read on themselves stays with them.
  5. Step 5: A year of coaching. Twelve months of the team plan with AI coaching, on a 30, 60, and 90 day check-in cadence so behaviour keeps moving.

The check-in cadence is the point. A workshop is an event. The year of coaching turns it into a habit, with the AI coach available in the flow of the team real work rather than parked in a report nobody reopens.

The part most workshops skip

Why a full year of coaching is included

Most facilitators sell the day and stop there. We include the year because the day is not where behaviour changes. The day is where a team finally sees the pattern. The change happens in the fifty ordinary weeks that follow, in the one-on-one that goes better, the handoff that stops dropping, the meeting that ends in a decision instead of a stalemate.

A workshop with no follow-through is a spike. Energy is high on the day and back to baseline within a month, because nobody built a way to keep the new language in front of people. The year of AI coaching is that mechanism. It sits in the team workflow, so when a real tension shows up in week nine, the coach is right there with a script tuned to the two styles actually in the room, not a generic tip.

The 30, 60, and 90 day check-ins are deliberate. At thirty days the working agreements are still fresh and easy to reinforce. At sixty days the first real test has usually happened and it is worth reviewing honestly. At ninety days the new habits are either holding or slipping, and that is the moment to adjust before they fade. That cadence is the difference between a workshop people remember and a workshop people still use.

Choosing a format

Both formats start from real data and end with written working agreements. The full day adds the two manager-focused blocks and the role-play on your real conflicts, and it builds the 90-day plan out in full rather than in outline. Here is what each one includes.

Founder of DISC Profile App and Get Clear Consulting

Most DISC workshops are run by someone who licenses Wiley’s Everything DiSC and delivers it from a deck. Jon Morrison built the instrument this workshop runs on. As the founder of DISC Profile App and Get Clear Consulting, he knows exactly what the assessment measures, where it is weak, and he publishes research on its own limitations rather than hiding them. In the room that means the day is grounded in the data, not a generic model borrowed from a binder.

He is a Certified Maxwell DISC Trainer and an Adjunct Professor at Trinity Western University, a TEDx speaker, and the author of Now Start With Who and Get Clear On AI, with a third on the way, on why capable people who mean well still frustrate each other. Those credentials matter less than the craft behind them. Reading a room, holding a hard conversation, and keeping a mixed group moving toward one decision are the actual skills the day depends on.

That is also why the design leans on real data over theory. A facilitator can hold attention for an afternoon on charm alone, but attention is not change. The whole day is built so people leave with something concrete about their own team, then have a year of support to keep using it.

He is based in Abbotsford, British Columbia. The workshop runs in person across the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley, and virtually for teams anywhere.

What is included

Everything in the workshop, itemized honestly

  • Half day, 3 hours: $3,000 CAD. Live facilitation of the core: the team map, style tensions, and written working agreements, led by Jon Morrison.
  • Full day, 6 hours: $5,000 CAD. Everything in the half day plus the manager one-on-one sessions, role-play on your real conflicts, and a built-out 90-day plan.
  • A full report for every participant, included. Each person full DISC report, normally $19 in USD on its own, at no extra charge.
  • One year of the team plan, included. Twelve months of Team Mode with AI coaching for the team, normally $99 per month in USD, at no extra charge.
  • Workshop materials. The exercises and agenda from our published workshop kit, adapted to your team.

We publish our prices on purpose. Most workshop pricing hides behind a quote, and that is usually a sign the number moves depending on who is asking.

In person across the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley or virtual anywhere, both at the same rates. Travel beyond the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley is quoted separately. The discovery call is to fit the day to your team, not to reveal a hidden price.

Who it is for

Teams this workshop fits

Leadership teams of 5 to 25

The format works best for an intact team of roughly five to twenty-five people who make decisions together and feel the cost when communication is off.

Teams with a new manager

A new manager inherits a team whose styles they do not yet know. The workshop gives them the map and the per-person approach in one day instead of six months of guessing.

Teams after a merge or reorg

When two groups become one, the friction is rarely about the work. It is about mismatched defaults on pace, detail, and how decisions close. This surfaces and resolves that early.

Coaches and consultants

If you run your own practice and want Jon to facilitate while you observe, that works. See the coach platform to bring DISC into your own client work.

Who it is not for: scoring the people you are hiring. The workshop can help the people doing the hiring understand their own styles and run better interviews, and it helps you onboard someone once they are hired. What it must never become is a way to screen, rank, or compare candidates, or anything that touches the hire decision. This instrument is not validated for employment selection, and using it that way carries real legal exposure under US and Canadian employment law. If that is what you are after, DISC is the wrong instrument, and we will say so on the call.

For coaches who want to run this themselves:

Frequently asked questions

How much does a DISC workshop cost?
The half day is $3,000 CAD and the full day is $5,000 CAD. Both include every participant full DISC report and a full year of the team plan with AI coaching. Virtual delivery is the same rates, and travel beyond the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley is quoted separately. Book a discovery call to fit the day to your team.
How long is a DISC workshop?
The half day is three hours and the full day is six hours. Both start from real data the team completes beforehand and end with written working agreements. The full day adds two manager-focused blocks and more time to practice on your real conflicts.
Do participants need to take the assessment first?
Yes, and it is the only prep. Each person takes the free assessment beforehand, about 10 minutes, so the day opens with your team real styles instead of a generic explanation of the model. There is no other preparation and no cost to take it.
Can a DISC workshop be run virtually?
Yes. The workshop runs virtually for teams anywhere, with an agenda adapted for breakout rooms and shared docs, at the same rates as in person. In-person delivery is available across the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley of British Columbia.
How many people can attend?
Five to twenty-five works best. Below five the team map is thin, and above twenty-five the room gets hard to facilitate as one group. For larger organizations we run more than one session.
What is the difference between a half-day and full-day DISC workshop?
The half day covers the core: the team map, style tensions, and written working agreements. The full day adds two manager-focused blocks, running one-on-ones by style and role-play on your real conflicts, and builds the 90-day plan out in full rather than in outline. The half day is a focused reset for an intact team; the full day suits a team plus its managers going deeper.
Do we need to buy DISC assessments separately?
No. Every participant full DISC assessment and report is included in the workshop price at no extra cost, and each person keeps their report. Many facilitated workshops license the assessment separately and charge for it on top of the facilitation fee. Here it is part of the day, because this workshop is run by the people who built the assessment.
Can we use DISC for hiring?
There are two questions inside that one. For the people doing the hiring, yes. DISC can help an interviewer notice their own style and the pull to favour candidates who communicate the way they do, sharpen the questions they ask, and prepare a panel to interpret what they observe rather than react to it. Once someone is hired, it helps their manager work with them well from day one. For scoring the people being hired, no. Never use a result to screen, rank, or compare candidates against a target profile, and never let it touch the hire decision. This instrument has not completed independent psychometric validation and is not validated for employment selection, and using an unvalidated tool to decide who gets hired carries real legal exposure under US employment law and Canadian human rights legislation. The failure mode is rarely someone ignoring the policy. It is a conversation tool sliding into looking at their DISC before the decision, without anyone noticing the line was crossed. If a profile is in the room when the decision is made, it has already been crossed.
What happens after the day?
Every participant keeps their full report, and the team gets a year of the team plan with AI coaching, on a 30, 60, and 90 day check-in cadence. The day is designed around that follow-through, not just the event.
Can we run it ourselves instead?
Yes, honestly. The free workshop kit has six activities and a full agenda you can run with no purchase. That path is real and it works. This page is for teams that would rather have it facilitated.
